Lambingan in Mt. Maynuba X Cayabu

With the perfect weather last Saturday, July 16, 2016, the Ulayaw Ahon (UA) event climb named, "Lambingan Sa Mt. Maynuba X Cayabu" finally commences after the postponement from the previous week due to the bad weather condition.

Twelve hikers were all excited for the climb was joined by five Ulayaw Ahon members who are Joan Tapic, Brian Joseph Opeña, Heroz Rodrigazo, Robby Fazonela and Glenn de Guzman. Some of the Ulayaw Ahon members that are not joining the climb were there on the meeting place to help the pack goodies to be shared to kids in Barangay Cayabu, in Tanay, Rizal.

Mount Maynuba is one of the newest mountains open for climbing in Tanay, Rizal. It gains the popularity in hiking community in the Philippines because of the highest probability of seeing the sea of clouds and it's eight waterfalls. Ulayaw Ahon started the trekking at 4AM and reached the summit at 6AM. As expected, the scenic sea of clouds greeted the hikers.

After the climb, Ulayaw Ahon gathered the kids in the community of Brgy. Cayabu to share the gifts to them. UA packed cupcakes, candies, packed juice, premium milk brand, coloring books, pencils, and bible story books. At least more than fifty kids received these happiness bundles UA gathered from donors. The climb participants were happy to be part of this activity. They just don't have a good time in the summit, but after that, enjoy giving back something to the community.

The climb participants and Ulayaw Ahon were glad to see the happy faces of the children. The good feedback is the success story of this climb. Ulayaw Ahon will continue this platform so that the community around the mountains will appreciate the climbers in their area thus, help maintain their mountain's beauty.

The Lambingan in Mt. Maynuba X Cayabu is one for the books. Ulayaw Ahon brought up the lambingan into more meaningful level that participants felt and proud being part of.

Mt. Sembrano Adventure- A Heartfelt Climb

On June 18, 2016, Ulayaw Ahon (UA) had an event climb at Mt. Sembrano, Rizal. Lead by Ulayaw Ahon's Lorraine Ortiz, together with Jo Tapic and Rob Fazonela. It's an adventure for 14 participants who are High School teachers in Rosario National High School located in Cavite, and employees of LGU and a BPO company.

It was a rainy climb so participants added effort to reach the summit. However, this climb turns out to be a special  because of two reasons: birthday climb of one of the participants and officially launching of Ulayaw Ahon's platform of meaningful mountain experience.

It is Preacy's birthday, and little did she know, Ulayaw Ahon had a little surprise for her. Team UA prepared cupcakes and personalize them to form a greeting to Preacy. She was surprised and this made her birthday more special as she conquer the summit of Mt. Sembrano and at the summit.

The meaningful mountain experience of Ulayaw Ahon has official launch during this climb. It is by doing a little out-reach effort that the community nearby the visited mountain would benefit.

Since, it is back- to school season, Ulayaw Ahon give out school supply bundles to twenty local children who were recognized going to school. One of the recipients shared that she is happy to be part of this program. "Maraming salamat po ma'am, kasi isang linggo ng pumapasok anak ko, kahit po papel wala pa", she told Lorraine. It is raining that time on their trek so the entire climbers really approach houses and knocked their doors to offer the bundles Ulayaw Ahon prepared for the kids.

It is truly heartwarming act to do. Even small actions bring big impact to the community. That is why Ulayaw Ahon will continue do this platform in every event climb. Part of the event fees collected goes to this platform and before the year ends, a culminated out-reach event will be held on selected community that Ulayaw Ahon believes will create a big improvement in result.

One of the participants, Angelica Cinco shared her thought about her climb experience and she said, "Masaya naman po at masaya din mga kasama". They just don't climb for leisure, but they also climb for a cause.

Ulayaw Ahon Mountaineering Club is composed of individuals who found home in the mountains.

Group of first time climbers and experienced ones, the group found a dynamic crowd in regards of mountain climbing. Later on, the bonding continues and from one mountain, the list grew as their relationship stepped into next level until they feel the family with each other.
